So like I’ve mentioned in my posts before, I have naturally straight hair and I like to mix it up every now and then. Curls are my favorite go-to because they change my entire look and I honestly love curly hair.
But it isn’t always a practical look because the heat is very damaging for the hair and it takes forever to curl my very straight hair. So I found an easier way to go about it.
I tried curling my hair with socks which don’t have any heat or any hair spray required. It takes a while but the result is pretty awesome. I’m going to show you how to get these pretty curls

What you’re going to need
- Socks (4-5 depending on the volume and length of your hair)
- Water spray
- Hair spray (optional)
You’re gonna start by sectioning your hair into two parts which you need to further divide into smaller sections. This sectioning depends on the kind of curls you want. If you want really springy and tight curls you need to make several small sections. But if you want a nice bouncy wavy-curly look then you can take bigger sections.
I normally make bigger sections because I’m lazy and I like the bouncy wavy-curly look. So you’re gonna take one of the many small sections that you made and spay some water on it after which you need to roll your hair onto the sock just like you roll it on your curler.
Then once that’s done, you’re gonna have your hair rolled onto the sock with the two ends of the sock free. You need to tie the two ends of the sock into a basic knot which will look something like knot in the picture below
After you’ve done this, you need to repeat the procedure all over your hair in all the sections that you’ve made. The number of socks depends on the number of sections you make.
After you’ve covered all the sections you need to keep it like that overnight. You can sleep with the socks on. They are really soft and doesn’t affect your sleep. Then when you wake up in the morning you just need to untie the knots and open up your beautiful curls!
But if you have shorter and thinner hair then 10 sections should be more than enough. Please let me know what you think if you ever try this at home in the comments below 🙂
